Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you make your first book.
How does OnceWonder work?
Three steps. First, add your characters from a few photos, plus any places or objects you want in the story. Then describe the story you want — or let AI suggest ideas you can pick and customize — and it drafts the pages for you. Finally, generate the illustrations and export a print-ready book.
Do the characters really look like the people in my photos?
Yes. We create a matching character from each photo and reuse it on every page, so the same person looks like themselves from the first page to the last — not a different face each time.
Is it free to try?
Yes. Creating an account is free and your first few images are on us — no credit card needed. You only pay when you want to generate more.
How much does a book cost?
You buy credits, which pay for the illustrations. A draft picture costs about 4 credits; larger, higher-resolution pages cost a little more. Buying credits in bigger packs lowers the price per credit. The pricing page shows current packs in your local currency.
What do I get at the end? Can I print it?
You get a print-ready PDF you can send to any printer or print shop, plus digital image files to read on screen, gift, or share online.
Can I include pets, places, and objects — not just people?
Absolutely. Pets, favourite places, and keepsake objects can all become consistent art in the same style as your characters.
What languages can the story be written in?
The story can be generated in English, Czech, Spanish, Italian, German, or French.
What if a generation fails, or I don't like an illustration?
Failed generations are refunded automatically, and you can regenerate or retry any image until you're happy. You can also edit the story text and captions freely.
Is my data private?
Your photos are used only to create your book. You can delete your account and its content at any time. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
